Day 2: Lighthouse and Orua Bay
Picture 1: Manukau Heads Lighthouse
Picture 2: Brittany and I on Orua Bay
Picture 3: Standing on the rock near the lighthouse
It has been a great day so far. I woke up really early around 5:30 since I went to bed so early. Once everyone else was up we got ready to leave to visit the lighthouse. It was on really high on the hill and we could see ocean and green hills all around. Everyone took a lot of pics up there because the view was very beautiful. The pictures we took almost look fake because it is hard to believe that something could be so pretty. Afterwords, we went to Orua Bay to have a picnic lunch. We went to the grocery store and bought sandwiches with chips (chippies in NZ) and fruit to eat. Dr. Lindsey's cousin came with some of his family members, and it was really nice meeting them. There were houses along the bay, and I was really jealous of the people who live there. There was even a wedding happening in a clubhouse on the beach, and we all stood and watched. Dr. Lindsey and Bryony met people who showed them a picture of what the bay used to look like. Dr. Lindsey and Bryony had a house there when they were little so they really enjoyed seeing the old pictures. When we got back to the house, Brittany and I skyped a few friends back home and did a little bit of homework. For dinner we had tacos, and they were delicious.
I will definitely be going to bed early again tonight, because we have another big day ahead of us tomorrow. We are heading to Auckland city where we are going to have brunch at the top of the SkyTower. The restaurant rotates which I am really looking forward to. The tower will provide a great view of New Zealand. Also, I am going to bungy jump off the SkyTower which should be really fun!
